I finally succumed to getting one of these players, and for the moment I feel it's a nice add on. Now I can watch my anime on my LCD now.

Currently I have tested on the following, AVI, MKV (no need to extract subs out, a real advantage), RMVB files.

Just copy your files onto your memory card or USB storage and your on your way.

With BluRay players costing in the $400 or more region, is getting a Playstation 3 more better. For me, I am in a dilemma on whether to wait or just jump in.

A bit of a history, i currently already have a DVD player, a Sony PS2 (original design) and a Microsoft Xbox (upgraded to 110G HDD).

So ARCHOS is launching this baby soon, how does this compare with my previous desire - the Viliv S5. Here's my little Checklist against it (since no detailed specs are released yet) -

The ARCHOS 9 incorporates :

1. New Intel ATOM Z515 processor, - I hope better than the S5 Atom Z520 1.33GHz CPU

2. 80 GB hard disk, - more storage than the S5 60GB Hard Disk
